The Process

Through trust and vulnerability, we will build something beautiful and unique to you.

first meeting

The first time we meet, it can be in my studio or out in the world somewhere like a park or coffee shop. We will get to know each other a little bit, the client can ask any questions they have, and we will discuss costs.

home visit/question session

If we decide to work together, the second meeting will ideally be in the client’s home. If this is not a possibility, we will decide on where to meet. However, I highly recommend being able to see the client’s space. How one chooses to decorate, what they keep around them, the energy within the home, tells me a lot about a person.

I will bring some general questions that will act as a jumping off point (sort of like an interview) designed to learn about a person’s aesthetic preferences and some personal history. Another reason it’s helpful to see one’s home space is it allows me to ask more questions because I can enquire about the things I see/feel.

the creative process

After the interview visit, I will begin the piece. This process is quite variable. Sometimes I may need to ask further questions, I might ask that the client comes to see the piece part way through, I might ask for another home visit. Each piece that I build is a different experience. The time each piece takes is variable as well. Some can be done in one sitting, some take months.

It is a journey that the client and I are taking together. My hope is that we both experience a bit of magic through this process.
